Homage to the Valella Valella

I wonder where you came from, your sail unfurled on high, was it misdirection, or currents gone awry

I’ve heard the tail of your kin, up and down the coast, a billion lives stranded, cause for reflection would write Proust

By-the-Wind Sailors, washed up on the shore, concentric are your patterns, yet the holocaust I still abhor

I step in between you, with respect for each small grave, my morning walk of reverence, you sailed the seas so brave.
